Kannapolis
Enderly Stop: Lia Bakery - Sweet treats and sips with rave reviews; don’t miss this visit!
Unique Find / Fun for the Fam: Village Park - This is a classic! Hosting movies and concerts, this park is home to some serious wholesome family fun. Enjoy making memories with a carousel, train rides, and a park splash pad. Check their website for operational updates and communication.
Monroe
Enderly Stop: East Frank Superette & Kitchen - A must-visit spot, with unique and classic diner food (breakfast & lunch) with vegetarian and vegan options. Features some seriously nostalgic and eclectic shopping, plus an extensive wine and beer selection!
Unique Find: Downtown Monroe Car Cruise-In - Held on the 2nd Friday of each month, April through October: Classic and vintage car show on Main St.
Unique Find/Outdoorsy: The Monroe Sunflower Field - A true delight to experience! Perfect for that sunny ‘Gram shot!
Concord (Yes, this one is actually North AND East)
Enderly Stops: Cabarrus Brewing, Union St. Cafe, & Press & Porter - Seriously, make this a whole day spot! Concord is hopping with downtown revitalization, tasty sips and plates. We know you are going to love the community vibes here.
Unique Find: Reed Gold Mine - A super
inexpensive experience, with options to pan for gold, and go underground for a bit. Pro tip: Beat the heat wave of 90+ temps; inside the mine will be about 30 degrees cooler! 😎
Fun for the Fam: Goldberry Books A perfect spot in the historic downtown area.
Unique Find/Outdoorsy: McLawland Farms - On your way in or out of Concord, make this a stop on your itinerary! Tons of beautiful blooms, early summer blueberry picking and figs in the later summer days. A vibrant space run by equally vibrant people.
Salisbury
Enderly Stops: Fleming St. Bakery & Southern Cuisine & M&K Trolley - Unique coffee and dining experiences!
Fun for the Fam NC Transportation Museum - An incredible experience with train rides pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive on select days during the year, and unique events (OMG, yes- Thomas AND The Polar Express!).
Winston-Salem & High Point
Enderly Stop: Mama Bear's Sweet Shop - Tasty treats in nearby High Point, NC
Unique Find / Outdoorsy: Old Salem - This is a family favorite for us! We love exploring the beautiful gardens, snacking (ok gorging) on the bakery treats, and visiting the unique historical sites.
Unique Find: Golden Oldies Antiques -
Could seriously spend an entire day in here (but I didn’t because teenagers don’t care about inspecting every vintage book and basket 🙄)!
